Yesterday/Today/Ice Cream Sandwiches

My blog is late today because I moved yesterday and Comcast comes this afternoon. This blog is being written the first night in my glorious home, facing the lovely North Pine Grove. I see the lake and beautiful Japanese ivy that snake up neighboring buildings. I should be more specific and instead of saying, “It’s just simply wonderful,” come up with something orginal. I’m so lucky (and so sleepy).

Scott, the young man I hired to drive my simple belongings, has to make another trip tomorrow. I said, “I don’t want to lift a finger,” but I really thought I'd be throwing my mattresses over my head. Well, my finger wasn't lifted helping him.

How can your tummy not be ready for bed after eating an ice cream sandwich? I’m gonna have one more.

Now it’s the first wake up at two am to write and little noise, big yeah. But I have to clean more, boo. The apartment was cleaned in anticipation of my arrival, but not enough, boo. LOL, boo nothing. The ceiling fan, the floors and some kitchen surfaces need re touching. I think I’ll survive the hour or less it’ll take me to do that. My shades are pulled open and I just saw the lights of an airplane descending towards O’hare. “Leaving on a jet plane, don’t know when I’ll be back again.” This next year, in finding a literary agent for my book, I won’t be on any plane. I’ll be here. Butt In Chair.

Now my fingers are crippled from scrubbing clean everything in this simply wonderful apartment

Hi Sheila.
My father was born and raised in Chicago. Never been there myself, though. Good luck with your new apartment, and I look forward to your book. I'll read it when it's ready.
