Ransacked by Thugs

Yesterday at work a person calls, "My house got ransacked by thugs so I'm gonna be a little late for work."

"Oh my goodness, ransacked?" I asked.

"Yup, from these hooligans I know down the street." She said.

"Goodness, let me have you talk to the manager." I said.

Goodness? I always say "goodness" as in, "Goodness, ransacked by thugs?"

Thank goodness she didn't seem to notice. She was likely more concerned about punching in on time after being ransacked.
