My lit scholar of a brother has been good friends with a woman that is a successful published writer. I remember my sister and I, in our teens, going to the bookstore to get her books; needless to say, we were in awe that our bro John actually knew her.
To my advantage, she has morphed into my writing mentor. And I'm finding it does make a difference that she's a woman because what she can understand and articulate and feel (for gosh sake's!) are E - M - O - T - I - O - N's. Moreover, she teaches me how to manipulate my emotions and when and how to put it in a word, a sentence, a paragraph.
I just don't think guys feel emotions quite the way women do. Do you agree?
