This is too much (probably boring) information but my definite goal this year is to secure a lit agent. Well, every year since I've been seriously writing, many of the publishing leads were taken from a book my sister gets me every year, Writers Market. This year I specified that I wanted the 2011 Guide to Literary Agents. For my newly finished memoir.
It sits on my lap right now and I can hear it saying, "Sheila, open me. Begin."
I'm excited because there are agents only listed in this specialized, thick book. I could send a query and/or sample chapter a day. Given the amount of query/script rejections I've gotten, after one more, I'll happily re open this book and simply forward it to someone else that accepts memoir submissions. It'll certainly get the best I've got during this process.
Who could ask for anything more?
