At the Bookends Blog today I read how literary agents can sit on a manuscript for many, many months before they ask to read it. Then it's still a good thing that I love to write because during that waiting period, it's suggested to keep writing. And submitting. So it's a really, really great thing that I've gotten over being rejected by literary agents. And I'm so happy because I found one path in my life that I have a passion for.
Right now I'm finishing Is There No Place On Earth For Me by Sheehan, non fiction. Sheehan had to have done SO much research on this book about the history (date and times included) of the life of a schizophrenic young lady. It makes me understand my friend GL that wrote and published a successful non fiction book about Chicago history. Therefore with published non fiction (not about yourself) the hours of dedication a writer has to/for/with their work is tremendous. They have to be specific and knowledgeable first and then they get to create! Wow.
